Asian Street by Thai - JLT

A tiny gem hidden in the basement of JLT, this place is buzzing with the clatter of woks. The indoor seating is super limited, but we were lucky to grab a spot. Loved seeing the owners there, personally greeting guests and suggesting vegetarian options and having a casual chat. What we tried: Housemade Vegetarian Spring Rolls: Super crispy and perfectly done. A great start. Som Tum (Veg): Unfortunately missed the mark—spicy and sour but lacked salt and sweetness. Possibly an oversight in balancing the veg version. Thai Green Curry: Excellent! Light (not overly creamy), well-balanced, and the veggies were spot on. They even mentioned you can choose your preferred consistency. Chicken Lab Gai: Ate this with rice like a main—it had the heat and was cooked perfectly. Overall, I loved the food and amazing to see owners at the place everyday. Service and food scores well. Here’s hoping they expand into a more dine-in friendly space soon. I’ll definitely be back.

I just had pad thai and mango sticky rice here and is divine!!! So delicious and rich tasty flavors. Everything here is perfect and everyone looked after me. First time here and I felt I was in my best friend’s house they are super welcoming.

To sum up my experiences, every bite of the Thai food we ordered was just absolutely glorious and very very authentic! Words just can’t fully capture how the owners (Faraz & Thip) and Thai staff were so welcoming and lovely; and back to the food, it’s heavenly scrumptious! Will definitely be a repeat customer and happily recommend this place. The ambiance felt like a bustling street in a Thai village, where both the food and service are exceptional.

Asian Street is a casual and down-to-earth restaurant serving authentic Thai cuisine. Hidden away in a small space in the JLT neighborhood, it’s a hidden gem. The service is very pleasant and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. The spring roll and papaya salad were both delicious and refreshing. However, the fried rice was a bit dry and bland.

Had the best Som Tom Thai green papaya salad and Thai prawn omelette , and Pla Rad prik , sea bass with three flavor sauce and also the best pad Thai prawn on my second visit. Amazing and super friendly staff and also beautiful Thai Esaan village chefs and great owners. I will definitely come back when I’m in Dubai and also send many people when I get back to Chicago.
