Subject: Feedback on Morning Visit to Discovery Branch – Token System Mismanagement My wife and I visited the Discovery Branch this morning to give fasting blood samples at the lab. We arrived at 7:00 AM, well ahead of the clinic’s opening time of 7:30 AM, and were first in line among several people waiting outside. At 7:20 AM, the clinic doors were opened, and everyone was asked to sit inside. The staff at the reception arrived at 7:25 AM and switched on the token machine, instructing everyone to take a token. This led to a rush, and despite being first in line, we were pushed back by others trying to get ahead. I raised my concern to the receptionist, mentioning that we had come early and should be attended to accordingly. He responded that the clinic opens only at 7:30 AM and that there was no way to know who came first. Eventually, I had to address the crowd, asking everyone to maintain decency, which led them to step back and allow us to take the first token. This situation could have been easily avoided if the receptionist had managed the queue in a more orderly manner—for example, by ensuring tokens were distributed based on arrival order or by delaying entry until the token system was active. Allowing people in without a working token machine led to unnecessary confusion and frustration. I believe this reflects a gap in the branch’s operational planning. Managing a crowd, especially one with fasting patients early in the morning, requires more sensitivity and better coordination. I had a very positive experience with Dr. Summa Thomas and her assistant Preeti. They both communicate with patients in a kind, clear, and professional manner. Their responses were always timely and thoughtful, and they showed genuine care and concern throughout. I truly appreciate their dedication and highly recommend them!
My experience at Aster Clinic Discovery Gardens was deeply disappointing from start to finish. It starts with a registration fee, making you think you’re about to receive premium care — but the reality is far from it. Appointment delays of 5–10 minutes seem to be completely normal, with no respect for patients’ time. The orthopaedic doctor I saw didn’t diagnose my case correctly and seemed disengaged and uninterested, as if he was just going through the motions. I was then sent for 5 physiotherapy sessions for neck pain, which only worsened my condition. Eventually, I went to Al Zahra Clinic, where a doctor immediately understood the issue and referred me to a competent physiotherapist. Just 3 sessions later, the pain was gone. The additional 2 sessions were only for muscle release and prevention. If you’re considering Aster because it’s close by — think again. Sometimes an extra 10-minute drive is worth it to get proper care, accurate diagnosis, and real relief. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to anyone serious about their health.
