Deira International School

My child has been in this school for two years and we're happy that we left. The amount of blame they put on students when actually its the teachers fault is crazy. Especially the physics department (not all the teachers), as they do not make an effort to help students understand and though all the parents have been complaining, the school has not taken any action. In my opinion, they can't ask anything more from students than to listen and work hard, but if the school can't hire the right people for the job, my money is a waste. Teachers are so biased that they sometimes grade students based off how much they like them, and if those students get in trouble, they ignore it as if nothing happened. We pay so much to go to this school just for teachers to not take the GCSE years seriously, and if my child were to go ask for help, they would be shut off or told to do it by themselves. How dare this school ignore the words of parents just for the money. Additionally, my child's head of year is very incompetent, and lacks the ability to support her year group during their first GCSE year. I was very surprised to find out the school has an outstanding KHDA rating when the teachers just change their behaviour when the inspectors come. I hope future students dont have to deal with this like my child did. Poor things...

My daughter has attended DIS for 8 years now. She absolutely loves the school and the staff. All Her teachers have been great encouragement and and the academic program is great. Our year on year experience has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in my child’s education and their growth as learners. Adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the student. Small class sizes and levelled learning have enabled my child to gain confidence in their learning abilities. Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within your child – their good behaviors and achievements; and they know the importance of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful, approachable manner. Great team – great school! If you want to give your child(ren) a stellar education while they are nurtured to be their best, most confident selves then I encourage you to seek out this school.

If you wanna know whats CRAZY, it's that the campus is MASSIVE. But you know what else is MASSIVE? Their reputation! Teachers really take interest in the students learning. What they don't have is a LOW amount of CCA options, they TAPER the extra-curricular activities. They FADE out discrimination and take care of special needs.
