I would like to share the story of how I came across Dr. Tulika and my ensuing experience being her devoted patient. I was frankly tired of psychiatrists in the city; I felt alot of gimmicky behavior being pushed around, and some were impatient while others were just interested in prescribing medication. So, cue in my several calls to undiscovered clinics and I came across a very calm, mature and intelligent voice (Dr. Tulika) that propelled me to visit her and learn more. I am happy to say that I have found a psychiatrist in Dubai who is diligent, patient with listening, and extensively knowledgeable of her field without resorting to much jargon that some patients are unfamiliar with; she is quite practical in her communication. She has helped me navigate several issues, while being receptive to follow ups and necessary changes to treatment plans. Due to my condition, she also was accommodative to some difficulties I faced and amended the treatment plan accordingly. Quite literally, changed my life… I went through an ADHD assessment, diagnosis, titration and consultation with Dr Tulika and every part of the process has been positive and supportive. My psychiatrist Dr Tulika and she has, quite literally, changed my life. I entered my first consultation worrying that I would have nothing to say or that I had convinced myself that I was wasting everybody’s time and had just convinced myself I had ADHD but the consultation (which lasted for just under an hour) was so easy. The questions that my psychiatrist asked were to the point and gave me great direction about what to talk about. When I wandered on a tangent he brought me back with clarifying questions yet also allowed me to talk with my normal stream of consciousness style of conversation. I was so nervous of feeling silly in my appointment (I have never had a psychiatry appointment before) but I actually felt valued, respected and listened to. I have had my end of titration consultation today and, once again, Dr Tulika made me feel listened to, valued and calm. He also explained, very clearly throughout the entire process, the next steps and what I needed to do next. Particularly the support and recommendations I have received from Dr Tulika has been friendly, professional, reassuring, a reflection of excellent levels of knowledge and experience, and most of all – life changing.
