Dubai Mall Taxi Stand

Before taking a taxi, please check whether the meter is functioning properly, as the driver may extort several times the fare from passengers on the grounds of instrument failure, and Dubai Mall and RTA cannot do anything about it!

On 16 June 2024, around 8:15PM to 8:30PM, we picked a taxi from Dubai Mall Taxi Pick up. We were here in Dubai as tourists and it was our last day. Unfortunately we had an almost traumatic experience, we wanted to go Karama to one of the restaurants. The driver who was wearing a grey hoodie, we are new to the country and it was late in the night so couldn’t really get much details all I know it was a Car, registered Taxi, the name of the driver was Stephen. He did say he was from Nigeria. Not enough details but I hope the authorities atleast stay alert over such drivers. To exit from the Dubai mall while he is within the parking he raised the speed to 60 at once and slowed down, He kept screaming out the city we want to go out of nowhere, he was like I will take you to Abu Dhabi and stuff like that, which clearly didn’t seem as a joke. He goes on to watch a movie while driving, increasing the volume of the music out of nowhere and decreasing it, scrolling through social media. He seemed crazy. While reaching our location safely thankfully, the amount was 31aed, he took 35aed and said okay and kept it. We don't mind tipping, but tipping to the right people who gives us a pleasant and safe ride, not for such a weirdo. We were in an hurry and he had stopped on the road instead of side, he also tried to drive away while the passenger was still trying to get down. It was late in the night, we were too tired and all this had us panicked, we couldn’t get much information. He dropped us near Kozhikode Star Restaurant, Karama around 9:00PM maybe. We were a family of 3 members. this one person ruined the experience for us, I hope the taxi company and Dubai mall security team as well keeps a strict watch on such guys, they might cause a traumatic experience to some tourists.

Experience at Taxi Stand - Dubai Mall was average. The wait times were a bit long, and the service could be improved. It's conveniently located, but there's room for enhancement in efficiency.
