If you’re thinking of joining Hatha Vidya because it looks like a spiritual, traditional yoga school—don’t be fooled. What they practice isn’t yoga, it’s a masterclass in rigidity, greed, and hypocrisy. I paid AED 2500 in advance for classes and wasn’t told the deposit was non-refundable or non-transferable. When I couldn’t attend due to life circumstances, I asked them to simply transfer the sessions to my mother. A normal, human request. Denied. Coldly and repeatedly. They’re now insisting I must personally complete 57 sessions before July 31st or lose the entire amount. Not a single rupee can go to waste—even if it means nobody benefits. Why? Because “policy.” This kind of soulless bureaucracy and money-grabbing has nothing to do with yoga and everything to do with control and profit. It’s fake spirituality wrapped in Sanskrit buzzwords. For a place that preaches compassion, they sure don’t practice it. Do yourself a favour—find a studio that sees you as a person, not just a payment. This one failed on every level that matters.
