Stayed at Port Saeed Building for two weeks. Overall, it was a decent experience with some positives and a few areas that could be improved. The room was spacious and definitely worth the money, offering good value for a short-term stay. The price was reasonable, especially considering the very good location, which made getting around quite convenient. Security staff were polite and very helpful, which made me feel comfortable during the stay. However, services were just okay — not bad, but not great either. I had to argue a bit to get certain services provided, which was frustrating at times. One issue was with cleaning — the room wasn’t cleaned before check-in, but after raising the concern, the team cleaned it for free. Overall, if you're looking for a spacious place in a good location at a fair price, this is a decent choice.

The best thing about this apartment, which is perfectly livable, was its amazing location right at the start of The Walk at JBR and close to probably 75 good restaurants, an equal number of retail outlets and a Multiplex cinema. As a visitor to Dubai, you will want to make a lot of use of the tram and Metro rail transit systems, which are integrated, incredible and quite easy to learn to move about on. The JBR 1 tram station is only about three blocks from La Vie and the tram takes you very quickly to and from Metro stations. The other great thing about La Vie is that at has two immediately accessible outdoor pools and then lounge chairs right behind Cove Beach. The location gives you quick access to swimming in the Gulf as well as the pools. One downside is that occupants of the building go down in the morning and put towels on the lounge chairs without actually being there, thus blocking others from using them. The building itself is fine. We had a significant disruption with a huge water pipe break (it didn’t directly impact our apartment) about a week into our one month stay and that had a major effect on the elevators. During the entire balance of our stay either two or three of the five elevators were out of commission thus causing delays in a 36 story building. The apartment is only on the first floor, so if you weren’t carrying things you could always walk up and down, but it still was an undesirable distraction. The apartment itself could be named “shades of beige“ as the color palette runs only from white to light beige for everything from the furniture to the walls, etc. There is a minimal amount of decorative art in it. The couch in the living room, which is also a pull out bed, is low to the ground and not very comfortable. The dining table can seat six comfortably, and there is an outdoor balcony.
