Interesting contrast between this site whose remains date from the Abassid Caliphate over 1000 years ago and the ultra modern city that surrounds it. Entry is free and I would recommend visiting the Visitors Centre first to get a handle on some of the archeological discoveries made on the site. The site visit doesn't take a huge amount of time and is a relatively easy walk At the end of your visit a refreshment stop may be in order on the pleasantly appointed restaurant/Cafe beside the entrance

The historical places of the Emirates always amaze with their beauty and generate interest in studying this history and culture! Inside there is a small museum with vases and decorations that were found in this place. You will be taken to each house, shown a film, and then you can eat a traditional breakfast in that cafe with an incredible view of the archaeological excavations and a view of the Burj Khalifa

I visited this place on 23rd March 2024 during the Ramadan time. The office and the Museum inside was closed. But I could freely visit the large compound and the actual architectural ruined. This place had flourishing Arab Islamic civilization during 10th-11th century AD and remained in use during 17th-18th century AD. The site has eight ruins, five domestic houses, a caravansary, a mosque and a marketplace. All ruined were nicely labeled, you don’t need a guide. Best part is you will be amazed by this huge empty land reserved the background of tall Dubai building landscape including Burj Khalifa which you can see clearly.

Beautiful, historical part of this futuristic City. The beauty its where the history meet the future. Something to enjoy, relax and...there is one of my favourite place to dine - is the traditional Emirati dine "Arabian Tea House". Close to Jummiera beach, can walk, cycle too.

Mostly empty lot with remains of some historical buildings, including houses, mosque and market. A sharp contrast with a high rise buildings of downtown on horizon.
