Mansour Jewellers

I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with Mansour Jewellers (Al Maktoum branch), and I feel compelled to warn other customers. I brought in my Maurice Lacroix skeleton watch, which was running perfectly – no issues whatsoever. The only thing I needed was for one decorative jewel (which had fallen loose inside the case) to be properly reattached. That’s it. I specifically stated that the watch was working fine and that I did NOT want any unnecessary repairs. In the boutique, I was assisted by an older gentleman who was very professional and honest. He told me clearly that no service was needed, and that opening the movement would be pointless and potentially damaging. That advice made perfect sense and gave me confidence – but unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Shortly after, I was contacted directly by a technician – a different person entirely – who was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and clearly trying to take advantage of the situation. He tried to claim that my watch had suffered “internal damage due to a fall” – which is completely false. The watch was never dropped and was functioning perfectly when I handed it in. To "prove" his claim, he sent me a video where the watch ran for a few seconds and then stopped – which is exactly what happens if a mechanical watch isn’t properly wound. But he tried to use this normal behavior as fake evidence of a defect! It was so obvious that he was either totally incompetent or deliberately trying to mislead me into approving an unnecessary full service. He then quoted a price of 1,200 AED for a full movement reset, cleaning, and polishing – even though I had already said I didn’t want polishing, and even though the original staff had told me it wasn’t needed. It felt like a scam – like a deliberate attempt to upsell and manipulate a customer who didn’t fall for it. Mansour Jewellers was extremely helpful with the resizing of my watch today. A super friendly team and the best service anyone could hope for. They have a lovely selection of watches including Nomos and Maurice Lacroix. I highly recommend a visit!
