Miraj Islamic Art Centre

As part of the Dubai city tour, we visited this cultural centre that elaborated the arabic culture.. this is the private collection of the His Highness! No photos allowed.. gold carpets were exemplary.. The guide was very informative.. Need at least 2 hours to visit the facility.. but we had to rush in 15 minutes. Suggest to take time to see this museum

I visited Miraj Islamic Art Centre in Dubai and was told that a carpet was made with 22K/24K gold threads and semi-precious stones, and that it was endorsed by the Royal Family. I was also told it was a special offer and that one person can only buy one such item in their entire lifetime. Based on these claims, I purchased the carpet — only to later find the same design available elsewhere at much lower prices, with no mention of real gold or stones. When I contacted another Miraj branch, they confirmed that the item does not contain real gold. They also sell watches that are presented as exclusive or luxury items, but the same models are available outside for much lower prices. Other reviews on TripAdvisor highlight similar concerns about misleading claims. I trusted Dubai’s reputation for transparency, but I feel misled. I’ve filed a complaint and hope this review helps others avoid the same experience. Please verify all claims before buying.

The art gallery was included as a stop in our Dubai City trip. I have never seen such amazing pieces of art. No pictures are allowed, so please respect that.

This place feels like a scam. They promised a VAT refund but never provided it, and now their phone, email, and even the location seem unresponsive or fake. Avoid Miraj Art Centre if you don’t want to be misled.

While returning, at Dubai airport, went to VAT refund counter but they advised that invoice is not registered. At the time of purchase they told that vat is refundable. I tried to contact centre but couldn't. Given Email id is also not valid. Can Miraj Art Centre provide their email id so that I can send all details to them for help in VAT refund. Vijaya Sinha
