It was not disclosed that payment was made to the mortgage broker by the bank directly, in addition to a “discounted” commission payable on top. I assuredly, and without a doubt confirm it was never made known despite the reply to this post advising otherwise. Make this inquiry before signing anything. Communication was pleasant prior to engaging services and thereafter was subpar and quite honestly fairly rude and dismissive during phone calls. If I did not inquire very extensively, no real information on the process or things that matter would have been provided readily. Before taking services, tried to arrange a call to ask all questions ahead of the process - despite confirming a time, on the day did not come on the call or notify of reason until late. He did not take any effort to actively reschedule a call.When it came down to the wire, broker did not have everything in order and looked after - 15 mins before a scheduled appointment he advised things are not finalized. Originally, had to make own arrangements to attend headquarters, 30-40 minute drive away. The rescheduled appointment, was picked up in a hot vehicle - did not even offer water or coffee the entire drive & water was offered more than halfway into the meeting. Everything could have been done directly in retrospect; the process is not complicated. No communication or follow up whatsoever except for payment for services. Compared to other brokers, based on this experience I would not be using services again and would not recommend. This was not enjoyable and made an exciting time a very sour experience.
