Organic Foods & Café
Reviews
Organic Foods and Café on Sheikh Zayed Road stands as one of our favorite wellness destinations in the world, a brilliant fusion of a premier organic grocer and a truly exceptional eatery. Its entire ethos is grounded in the principles of Rudolf Steiner, whose revolutionary biodynamic farming method treats the earth as a single, living organism to yield food of unparalleled vitality. This profound commitment to holistic sourcing shines through in a thoughtfully curated menu that brilliantly satisfies every culinary preference, from devout vegans to discerning omnivores. We’ve made a cherished ritual of meticulously selecting our pristine groceries before settling in for a restorative and absolutely delicious meal. It’s a place where you can feel the potent nourishment in everything you consume. And for those days when a visit isn't possible, their seamless delivery service is an absolute godsend, bringing that vibrant goodness right to our doorstep.
Located on sheikh Zayed , easy to find organic supermarket. I remember going few years back and finding everything quite expensive. But for last few years we are eating mostly organic and normally get groceries from online stores or buy from Europe and u.s since we travel there every month. I visited the store again recently and was quite content with the options and prices this time. It’s obviously still quite small compared to stores like whole foods but in dubai I think it’s your best bet . They had a lot of options for fruit and vegetables and also have a fresh kitchen . There is a cafe there too . I really liked how it has been made kid friendly by placing smaller carts for kids and also samples for them like fruit and cookies. There is seafood available too and bakery section is decent as well. Staff seemed busy but were still always ready to assist when asked. Im hoping to see more markets like this and more organic and healthier options for people .
- healthy food doesn’t have to be boring 🤤 - Recently my sister and I dropped by @organicfoodsandcafegcc for a much needed lunch date and we were blown away with how good everything tasted! . Their main concept is all about healthy eating- be it vegan, organic, or gluten free they got you covered. We started off our lunch with some fresh simple garden salad and their cold beverages which was so refreshing to have especially during this summer heat, our brains just calmed down the moment we slurped away their ‘Roiboos Lemonade’: this was so tangy and delicious, it wasn’t as sour as I thought it would be- just what I needed to quench my thirst and Beetroot Glow Juice’: this concoction is made of beetroot, ginger and apple- all the good stuffs for the skin and body 👌🏻, had a very earthy tone and love the color! For our main dishes, we definitely had to try their ‘Chia Seeds Coated Salmon’: to me this was the HIGHLIGHT of the summer menu. I’ve tasted my fair shares of salmon but nothing compared to this! . Crispy and succulent salmon served with sautéed beetroot, lentil, kale and wasabi tamari lime infusion. That infusion was the PERFECT inclusion for this wholesome and awesome meal! Loved the taste of this sauce- had the right amounts of seasoning and kick to it which goes well with the salmon. The veggie and lentil pairing carried the dish even further, A MUST HAVE! 💯. My sister settled for their ‘Steak Frites’: for the meat lovers out there this dish includes their free-range striploin steak served with beetroot kraut and thyme hollandaise sauce along with potato fries & confit garlic. The steak 🥩 was so moist and tender, the texture of the hollandaise sauce was so fluffy and buttery, have bite of that with the beet kraut for some adding salty pickle kick, and a dash of confit garlic 🧄, it’s a happy dance y’all 🤤. Amazing flavours that complement each other so well👌🏻. Love the presentation of both the main dishes we...
It is disappointing that they add sugar to the Sushi Rice. Off note: It is good to go there only when they have 20% off on everything otherwise it is really expensive! Well, even with sale it is still expensive! This branch is one of the largest. They have fresh food station which has Vegan, Vegetarian and Keto options of Sushi and other food. They also have a quite spacious cafe which has offers (still on the high range) on weekends. The bakery has good selection of bread, though I do not recommend the vegan/gluten free ones as it dry and hard and I still prefer to get mine from the Biorganic store in Times Square Centre in Dubai. The vegetables and fruits are of good quality there, but again expensive! Luckily, they started to have local produce and the prices are much lower than imported ones: “Local sweet melons were for about 10 AED/Kg. While imported water melons were for a bit less than 50 AED/Kg! The price of imported garlic is exaggerated 80 AED/Kg”. The organic packed broccoli is affordable (around 8 AED on sale per pack). Fresh and frozen seafood and fish is available 💰! Pork products have their one section there (image attached)! I tried their falafel it lacks these things in the falafel dough mixture: fresh parsley and fresh coriander leaves, and it needs more onions and garlic. The fried falafel is dry and difficult to swallow unless eaten with a dip. I really recommend changing the dough according to what is mentioned above. The sushi is very expensive but of a very good quality and taste, they offer pickled ginger, wasabi and soy sauce and tamari (gluten free) for free when you get sushi. The canned beans, carrots, corn, peas are of a very good quality and very affordable when on sale.
As a healthy option we do visit this sort of sales locations, but it is not worth the prices due to the quality and source of the items. Among the costliest are the coconut oil, olive oil and fruits. But if we go to supermarkets we have choices of same products with different country of origin and with reduced prices. Still some goods are OK. So extending the order to the minimum purchase.
