I had a personal loan and outstanding dues on my credit card when i lost my job in Dubai. I had a credit shield for my credit card and I realized that it only payed the minimum due for a period of 1 year and did not cover the entire debt. Unable to find a job, i relocated to India and started working there. I was paying my loan EMI through a friend of mine here and was also simultaneously trying to negotiate with both my banks for an amicable settlement. The response from the banks were lukewarm and was threatened that i will be declared a willful defaulter and were not ready for any settlement. I wanted to come back to Dubai on a new assignment and with the bans declaring me a defaulter, i was afraid i would not be able to come back here.
