Souq Extra - Silicon Oasis

People park 🅿️ their cars just in front of the door 🚪 and security guys are useless and they never report it. Why don’t they just close the parking once, it’s full and increase the parking price. There are plenty of parking outside. Same happens everyday in GymNation 🏋️‍♀️ parking 🅿️ and they even park in special needs ♿️ assigned areas without authorization.

Souq Extra is a convenient spot in DSO with a good range of food options including Pizza Hut, KFC, McDonald’s, bubbee, Krispy Kreme, Cold Stone and so on. Carrefour is available for everyday groceries, and Viva Supermarket is a great option for more budget-friendly shopping. One of the main reasons I visit is for the ENBD and Mashreq cash deposit machines, which are hard to find elsewhere in the area. However, a major downside is the condition of the male washrooms—they’re extremely dirty and smelly, likely due to poor maintenance. It really takes away from the overall experience.

I’m very dissatisfied with their parking system. This is my second complaint. Previously, I went shopping there twice in one day, and they charged me for parking. I thought it was because the total time exceeded two hours, so I let it go. But today, I went there in the morning with a friend for breakfast and stayed for just over an hour. In the afternoon, I wanted to go through the drive-through to buy a Happy Meal for my kids. I didn’t even park—I just passed through the parking area to get to the McDonald’s window, which took only 10 seconds. Yet they charged me AED 10 for parking. I don’t understand this at all. The total time I spent there in both visits didn’t even exceed two hours, and I’m a genuine customer—not someone trying to use the parking space for free. Why is their management so rigid and unreasonable? I’m growing more and more reluctant to go there. There are plenty of malls around, yet they make their real customers feel so frustrated.

One shopping complex with various shops and eating joints to serve all your basic needs. Added advantage is 24/7 MacDonalds and Subway, KFC and Pizza Hut, Starbucks etc drive through options as well. At times parking is an issue but in general it’s a good place for people within DSO community. Carrefour is there too along with pharmacy, money transfer and 3 ATM spots for different banks including ENBD.
