Tabari Artspace Gallery

One of a few galleries genuinely interested and involved in exploring and promoting Middle Eastern Artists. The staff is passionate and knowledgeable about the works ( many of importance in the region) , appriachable and willing to discuss the different pieces. Tabari organizes events where one can meet the artists and learn more about the work on display, apart of having works presented on the website, and through an online viewing tool. We acquired multiple works from Tabari, the sales were done professionally. Even if not buying, i pop by when in the DIFC, discovering a new artist every time.

Bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle of DIFC, you find art that is truly transformational in the Tabari Artspace. Visited this place by accident, on my journey towards learning more about art and encountered the work of Lebanese artist Tagreed Dargouth. The exhibition of Strange Fruit, the name of the collection and how simple olive trees tell the stories of struggles of people torn by war and shattered dreams is really moving though the canvas. There was no one to guide me but the book regarding the collection was pretty comprehensive, to help me delve a little more deeper into what Tagreed was trying to portray. Artwork regarding what the world's perception of 'feminity through the Barbie' was an eye-opener as well and teaches women to appreciate themselves for who they are rather than a plastic, imaginary standard. Tabari Artspace is right next to Sconci Gallery and can be similarly accessed from the Eniartes Towers Metro Station. It was well worth the discovery!

This is a brilliant gallery space with a fantastic selection of artworks - I would definitely recommend a visit!
