British Embassy Dubai

I telephoned the embassy today (19.12.23), for help to locate a bag i left at an airport in Saudi Arabia. The lady on the end of my telephone call was not only extremely abrupt but VERY rude. I was courteous until she responded rudely. I then had to remind her of her role which was to assist the British public in Dubai. She was the epitome of THE MOST unhelpful individual i have ever encountered. She knew nothing and instead referred me to the web page. Despite informing her that the web page was not detailed hence my call, she could not give me any helpful advice. Its disgusting that such an individual represents a British entity that is designed to support the British public. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. My husband also called and was treated the same way. It is shocking!!!

Consular services and help, what an oxymoron. Greeted off the bat by a rude individual who already sounds like she's given up. Proceeds to unwillingly listen(not really, just be present while I talk) to my issue, followed by a generic response obviously from a standard playbook/guideline. Thank you for being unwilling to actually listen and provide any advice on my newborn effectively being nationless other than 'seek legal advice'. Issue has now been resolved by a HMPO webchat worker, yes I know you don't work for the HMPO but we were stuck overseas and you refuse to give any advice other than the standard templates in your playbook and 'seek legal advice'. Very disappointed that this is the representation of the UK in UAE. Surely we can do better than that...

The service i received from one of the customer service agents are not satisfactory. They don't answer to your query, instead redirects you to the website. Reason why I called is I wanted to clarify bits of information that I read in the website but the agent was unhelpful and dismissive of my concerns.

I thought uk embassy would prefer new generation. Visa complexity will improve standards. But no they are following that old tradition. They only look at the banking transactions to grant a visit visa to a person. How the money came in and who spent it. If they had modern knowledge they would know how much the person has recently, if that is It is better if a person normally does more business in some months and less in some months but does not see how much his saving last amount is. Very bad experience 🙈 same of their decision.

During the years that I have lived in Dubai, Penthouse is the only place where you can both chill and have fun. The most interesting point is that this location is still a favorite place for tourists after many years, and when I go there, I find it full of surprises to see different nationalities.
