Consulate General of Canada in Dubai

Despite holding valid visas for reputable and well respected countries, and a consistent travel history, also submitting all required documents, my VISITOR visa application was unfairly rejected. The stated reason, that “I might not return” is baseless, and I strongly disagree with this assumption, as I demonstrated strong ties to my home country and a stable life in the UAE, a safe and secure country where I have resided for the past 10 years. In my opinion this decision feels biased and contradicts Canada’s values of fairness, transparency, and inclusivity. I hope future decisions will be more transparent and fair, allowing me the opportunity to visit beautiful Canada and explore its rich cultural heritage and natural wonders. I am giving 3 ⭐️ star because the process was super fast and easy except the document upload to IRCC portal was limited by 2 options and maximized by 2MB only.

The team at the consulate were great and professional. Halima and the front desk security lady were very nice and helpful especially Robert who took his time and explained everything. Great team that represent Canada in a proper way. Thank you all!

I have never felt more embarrassed to be Canadian. As a visitor, I was physically assaulted and beaten by two foreign individuals in Dubai, which left me injured, mentally not okay and forced to open a legal case. As a visitor unfamiliar with the local system, I turned to the Canadian consulate for help. Instead of receiving guidance, support or even BASIC assistance, I was completely dismissed. They weren’t willing to provide a translator or any practical help, leaving me to navigate the complex legal process on my own, especially with the travel ban now with the case (I am a student and have to go back) What made it even worse was seeing friends from other countries from previous experiences (third world countries!!!) receive far better support from their consulates. This lack of care and responsibility was not only disheartening but deeply humiliating. I expected my country to stand by me in such a vulnerable situation, and they failed entirely. Bless god I have double nationality and received help (provided me with a lawyer) from the Moroccan Consulate !
