Ekar Car Rental

If I could give Ekar zero stars, I would. As soon as I entered the car, I was hit by the foul stench and filth inside—it was disgusting beyond words. There was trash everywhere, sticky surfaces, AND the fuel tank was completely empty. Naturally, I called customer service expecting at least an apology or a solution. Instead, I was connected to a man named Andrew, who must have missed every single customer service training session ever offered. Instead of addressing the problem, Andrew had the audacity to tell me to go fill up the tank myself and get the car cleaned! As if I'm their unpaid employee running errands for them. When I demanded to speak to a supervisor, Andrew refused and said, "If you want to speak to my supervisor, you can call back another time and maybe he will be available." The level of arrogance and unprofessionalism was mind-blowing. I called three times again and it was Andrew who picked up the call and insisted I call back to speak to the supervisor. Ekar clearly has no standards for the vehicles they list or the people they hire to deal with paying customers. Andrew's attitude alone is enough reason to avoid this company. Save yourself the frustration and rent elsewhere — anywhere would be better than this circus.

I had a very disappointing experience with EKAR Rent. The car I received was extremely dirty, both inside and out. What more funny is when i was about to return it, I was shocked to find there was no drop-off point anywhere near me. I was in Barsha 1, and the nearest drop-off location is JVC. I ended up wasting more time and money taking a taxi back to Barsha Heights after dropping off the car. Additionally, the don’t give proper informations and it can mislead as well. No matter what they will charge you extra for petrol. This completely against the purpose of a “convenient” short-term rental. What’s the point if you can’t drop it off anywhere nearby? Never using ekar again

It used to be one of the best seamless ways to rent a car as car sharing app. However, just used it recently since my car was in service and my advice is to ensure the car state before you book it! The car I got last time was in miserable state! However, they sent a guy with water spray bottle and small cloth to clean it who did poor job and couldn't remove the bad smell. ( I also had the option to clean it in a petrol station and get reimbursed ). So ended up cleaning it myself as courtesy to the next passenger and as support to such great startup idea. The fun part is that I asked them initially if there is a chance to change the car. Their response after 23 hours was please return the car after ur rent period is completed. Edit: used this service again now May 2024. Realized when planning to use it just add extra 40 aed for cleaning and expect any sort of smell inside. UPDATE May 2025: same experience cars are so dirty and disgusting !!!
